“第一夫人”first lady，要不要大写词头？

first lady 和 president 的配偶，但和 president 不太一样。

president 是官方正式头衔，一般要大写，比如 President Obama（奥巴马总统）。

但 first lady 并不是官方正式头衔，无需大写，但如果是特指某人，为了表示尊敬， 也可以大写，比如：

The current First Lady of the United States is Melania Trump.

但不是特定指某个人的时候，也就是泛指的时候，小写就行了，比如：

1. 带人名的正式头衔，都要大写，比如：

2.不带人名的头衔，首字母一般不大写，如 king（国王）、prince（王子）、president（总统）、senator（参议员）等，如：

Prince William is widely considered to be the next king instead of his father, Prince Charles.

人们普遍认为威廉王子将成为下任国王，而不是他父亲查尔斯王子。

3. 如果用工作头衔作为称呼，或紧跟人名，应该大写其首字母，如：

Do you think I should start running on a treadmill, Doctor?

我们很高兴副总裁Barbara Smith出席今年的会议。

4.工作头衔没有紧跟在人名前后，或是有介词、逗号等隔开，工作的头衔一词可不大写首字母，如：

The marketing manager is John Smith.

市场部经理是John Smith。

Joe Smith is a marketing manager.

Joe Smith是市场部经理。

总结一下，如果这个头衔紧跟人名，如果某个头衔是泛指，或者跟人名关系不迷切时，小写即可。
